lyrics

Mr. Misery Loves Company
Projects becoming transference
We’re not doing you any favors
You were the right guy at the right time
I always defend you
Tell people they have to understand you
They don’t see the softness in you
But you’re tight and mean
I can massage you into relaxing
Slamming your Godzilla tail all over the people who support you
Wreaking havoc
You’re getting so caught up in what you need you need you need
Be mindful of humility and kindness
If everyone has to prove themselves to you, they’ll always fail you
Pour all your crap on me because you can
Because I’m here
Puts you on edge
Steamroll your thoughts
Finish your sentences
Be mindful of humility and kindness
Welcome to Swifty’s Bazaar!
Mr. Misery loves company
What’s to be done with Mr. Misery?
He’s nothing but a prince to me
Like a symphony of sorrow
When he has a habit of pushing people away who love him the most,
Surround himself with the minions who adore him and his opinions,
Who would ever ignore him?
Those who really don't know him
He’d rather have 1,000 friends who click LIKE and think he’s genius
Than the ones who see him and accept him for all his failures and screw-ups
His repellent force field keeps love away
But he welcomes strangers to adore him
Because friends see through it eventually and ignore him
Because they see through it, and to them he becomes
TRANSPARENT
Mr. Misery unfriended me
I saw it coming
He knows that I’m disappointed in him
So he doesn’t want to see me and remind him
A know-it-all who has disciples who bathe in the mystique
And I won’t wash his feet anymore
Be mindful of sycophant ablutions
If I wait long enough he’ll come back
He wants me to give up on him but I never will
The minions will stray and abandon him once you’ve revealed everything
Giving TMI about too much
And I know
Now we all know
Chipping away
What’s happened when he cares too?
Much about the masses
Playing cards close to the vest Instead of engaging the strangers,
Use them to get your ego stroked
The loved ones will be quicker to call you on it and smell the
DESPERATION
Mr. Misery is fueled by ego
Gone wrong awry
Knocking down everything in your path

about

Peril Culver City, California

Do you like weird songs written on ukulele? Perhaps with bleeps and bloops and loops? Then you're in the right place. A man recently heard a song of mine and called it The Andrews Sisters-meets-They Might Be Giants, with swirling guitars. Another friend heard a song of mine and called it Modern Sons of The Pioneers. I've made songs deemed charming and lush. Sounds about right. ... more
